Possibly (NNI) Standard Chartered Bank claims to provide high class banking services to its customers but over the last five years Standard Chartered Bank has closed more than 50% of its branches in Pakistan due to which From its customers Has severe difficulties accessing their bank. According to the website 'Pro Pakistani', in 2015, Standard Chartered Bank had 101 branches in Pakistan, which was far less than the rest of the banks in Pakistan. They have also been reduced by more than half and now there are only 49 branches of this bank left in Pakistan. These branches are located in 10 cities of Pakistan including 3 Islamic branches. The bank management has closed all such branches which were costly in terms of operations and were losing money. By closing these branches, the bank management is focusing on corporate banking and digital banking and this is now the real business strategy of Standard Chartered in the Pakistani market.
The Bank has invested heavily in digital infrastructure and continues to invest more in expanding its digital capabilities and expanding this infrastructure. According to the report, at present most of the branches of Standard Chartered Bank are located in covered areas of 10 cities, shopping centers etc.
